6 Weeks in Review

Bailey is already 6 weeks old and we can't believe it! It's really like she has been here all along and we can't imagine our family with out her. We are blessing her at church in a week and look forward to celebrating her and being with our extended family.

I just wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from these last 6 weeks:

The kids had come up to the hospital to see us and meet Bailey. They immediately loved her and wanted to hold her.
This pic cracks me up, I was trying to wake her up and she was just SO relaxed:
She was having a really hard morning one day and was extremely fussy and it had been a good 2 hours and I was struggling to keep her quiet and happy (a rare occurance) and I had to get laundry done. So I took her in the laundry room with me and the only place safe to put her was in the laundry basket. I moved clothes from the washer over to the dryer and as soon as I started the dryer she passed out.
The classic first bath picture:
Her first road trip, up to Drews parents place. It's a classic "I know something's up" face.
Once we got to Drews parents we realized we had left Baileys bed. Forgetful parents, adjusting to a baby again...so we improvised.
 A luggage bag!
 Her adorable little feet:
And her first week at church she spent just like this:
She is still a great baby and we are so glad she is a part of our family.

Autumns Award

A note got sent home last week in Autumns backpack saying that she would be getting an award at the schools 2nd Quarter Award Assembly. I wasn't planning on going figuring every student would be recognized for something, and it was during Weston's nap time and Bailey is only 5 weeks old. But when I dropped Autumn off on Thurs. her teacher grabbed me and asked if I was coming to the assembly and I played dumb like I forgot about it and she said I should really come because Autumn was one of only a few kids being recognized in her class. So I realized Autumn must have accomplished something worth being recognized, so I better be there. I am SO glad I went. It was so fun for me and Weston to wave at Autumn while she sat with her class and then to see her accept her award and stand with her other classmates- which the other 4 kids got recognized for Perfect Attendance. What was Autumns award?
MOST IMPROVED! I am so proud of her. Teachers are allowed to give out one Most Improved award per quarter per class and her teacher told me after the assembly that there was no question between her and her aids who the award should go to. I am so proud of her. I just recently had a parent teacher conference with her teacher and she has passed all her goals that were set for her at the beginning of the year, except in areas of speech. But she has made leaps and bounds in her speech. Here are some pics from the assembly.

Autumn coming up to accept her award-
Autumn taking her award and going to stand by her friend Emma, who is also in her class at church-
I love how all the girls are in pink-
That's the principal to the teachers left-
Her teacher presenting all the kids to all those at the assembly-
What I loved was Autumns class was mingled with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and so everytime a preschooler got up to accept their award all the other "older" kids would say, "aw!" They seemed so small compared to those 5th graders! I am so proud of Autumn and her accomplishment.

Weston & Baileys Doctor Appointment

Yesterday I took Weston to the doctor for his 2 year well visit and Bailey had her 1 month check up as well.
The doctor was pleased with both of them and their growth. Although she did note that Weston is a rather hefty 2 year old, who could pass for a 3 year old with his vocabulary and stature, and to make sure he's off whole milk (and cut back on juice) because the extra calories aren't doing him any favors for his weight. He's just a big kid, he's been off whole milk for awhile.

Westons Stats:
Weight: 33.2 lbs - 95th Percentile
Height: 35 1/4 in.- 75th Percentile
(Before church on Sun. Church is at 12:30 so we eat lunch right before we go, which is why Weston still has food in his hands, he is a s-l-o-w eater)
Baileys Stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 12 oz- 40th Percentile
Height: 21 1/4 in.- 50th Percentile
Head: 36 cm- 25th Percentile (I knew her head was small, but not THAT tiny)
(Bailey before her first time at church)

I am glad both kids are growing so well!

More on Bailey

Bailey is growing like a weed. She is up to 8 lbs. and grown a 1/2 in. She still wears the same 4 or 5 outfits because she doesn't fit into any of her clothes. The pj's above fit her best. She is great at night, she still eats every 3 hours, but goes right back to sleep. So I am tired, but not completely sleep deprived.

For those who were wondering what Baileys middle name is- it's Lynn. We didn't have her name picked until an hour before she was born, and her middle name just popped out of my mouth when the nurses asked after she was born. We had discussed 3 possible middle names the whole time we were in labor (Lynn was one of them), but not knowing if it was a boy or a girl made it hard to be serious on picking a name let alone a middle name.
She doesn't have a lot of hair, but what hair she does have has a reddish tint to it. Westons hair was the same way when he was an infant, and around 4 months old it became very blonde, so we are curious what color her hair will be. It would be fun to have a brunnette, a blonde, and a red head.
That looks like a bald spot above her ear, it's actually a blonde patch, so we won't be surprised if her hair ends up coming in blonde.
She spends more time awake now, she is still the sleepiest thing, but her awake stretches are in the morning when all the kids wake up and evenings when the kids go to bed. All the time in between that she is asleep as soon as she finishes eating. So while I feel busier than ever, she still sleeps enough that it allows me to get stuff done.
We still adore her to pieces!
